At Never Tread, we focus on raising the healthiest food we can possibly achieve. We use regenerative, holistic, and sustainable practices to keep our cattle happy and healthy. You can expect the following from our farm:

We do not sell cuts at this time. However, we offer shares of beef which some people refer to as freezer beef. Common size shares we typically sell are in 1/4 and 1/2 shares. This means that if you order 1/4 share, you will receive 1/4 of the steer that is butchered. This includes splitting any organ meats you are looking for, like liver, with the other customers that have shares in that steer.
A quarter of a share is roughly 100-125 pounds of beef. It can take up about 5-7 cubic feet in the freezer depending on what types of cuts you have chosen. A few weeks before we take the steer to the butcher on your behalf, we will send you the butcher’s cut sheet. This is when you’ll decide if you want various cuts of roasts, steaks, and other specialty cuts. Anything you don’t want, like roasts, will be ground into burger.
We price based on the low-end of the USDA National Monthly Grass Fed Beef Report. We stay as close to under the Average Price of the previous month’s Grass Fed Beef - Direct to Consumer (Retail) reported costs.
